However, alongside the fun, it's important to stay alert, because scammers often try to take advantage of these events. 
Scammers' Tactics: Luring with False Promises and Fake Accounts

Fraudsters may pose as UHCU representatives, leaving comments on giveaway posts claiming you've won. Some even copy our profile photo and name to appear authentic. These messages often include suspicious links urging you to "claim your prize."

Protect Yourself: Avoid Phishing Links

Never click on links from unofficial accounts. Many of these lead to phishing websites designed to steal sensitive information, such as login credentials or financial details.

Remember: UHCU will never request your credit card or banking information through social media comments.

United Heritage Credit Union only contacts giveaway winners through official channels, via email or a phone cal on dates clearly noted in posts or on our website. If you receive a direct comment or message claiming you've won, assume it's a scam. When in doubt reach out directly to UHCU through verified channels.
